May’s Full Flower Moon is scheduled for May 23, 2024 and offers you the opportunity to step into your full potential. Like, the flowers and plants that are in bloom now that we’re in the dreamy space between Beltane and Litha, the Summer Solstice, this is your time to grow as well.

Full Moon rituals and correspondences for the Flower Moon are related to abundance, growth, and transformation. In 2024, the Flower Moon is in Sagittarius, so it’s extra energized with that adventurous, risk-taking spirit of the archer.

As we approach the Esbat, consider where your arrow’s aim is set when it comes to your dreams and goals. And, where in your life you can make changes to make your heart feel more alive and free. Or, where you should go on your next vacation. After all, Sagittarius does love to travel.

What Does the Flower Moon Mean Spiritually?

The Flower Moon, like all full moons, has a powerful influence. This month is teeming with life and growth. It’s the time to start anew, embrace positive experiences, and let go of old beliefs that are holding you back.

Spiritually, the Flower Moon is a period of blossoming and awakening. It serves as a reminder to appreciate the world’s beauty, practice patience as plants transition from buds to flowers (and we do too), and nurture new beginnings. Embrace the journey ahead with grace, gentleness, and hope.

Beltane, celebrated on May 1st, signified a turning point into the brighter half of the year. The Summer Solstice is just weeks way. And, for Wiccans and some other pagans, this Esbat is the time when the Lord and Lady are celebrating their Divine Union and frolicking through the fields, causing flowers to bloom.

The energy of the Flower Full Moon is all about:

  • Growth
  • Abundance
  • Playfulness
  • Joy
  • Passion
  • Creativity

What Kind of Magic Should I Do In My Full Moon Ritual?

In 2024, the Flower Full Moon is in Sagittarius. And, Sagittarius is connected to the planet of growth and expansion. Full Moons are always a good time for letting go of anything that no longer serves you and embracing what comes with the New Moon.

This month, you’re encouraged to leave your comfort zone, and all the heaviness associated with winter, behind. It’s the perfect time for candle magic (Sagittarius is a fire sign), spells and rituals connected to self love, beauty, nature, or romance.

You can also create Moon water that contains this energy by setting a bowl out with water where the light of the Moon will pass over it during the night. Once gathered, use this in rituals, spells, baths, or to anoint yourself.

Finally, the Flower Moon is a good time for journaling and magic that allows you to release your limiting beliefs holding you back from reaching your highest potential.
